LFW : s/r 2012 , front row report

From the start of the event one person that really fascinates me always is ANJANA SHARMA from img.
she is there at every designers show keeping a check on the guests, the show areas, the runways etc.
trying to spot her at some of the shows where she is busy trying to understand the collections.

LFW :S/R 2012, event setup

LAKEM FASHION WEEK 2012, as always was at teh same venue, the same old people, the same food, the same sponsors(almost), the same setup ...etc , etc...I dont need to give you a peek a boo at the event in general for you can check out previous posts for that !!
although late, a quick round up of what happend at the fashion week...showing you only what was new and diffrent this time around.

 amazing installations stormed the entire venue with these muslin wrapped master pieces.

 a cheaper and a surely eco friendly version of the chadelier !! muslin drapes hanging from the ceiling.

 even the walls were kinda given the same texture to complete the look !!

 tea party seen recreated in sheer muslin fabrics tied up with colorful nylon ropes .

one refreshing change from the last years setup were these installations, brainchilds of some of the country's top designers, placed at every corner to grab the eyes. simple structures are given a dimension by the twirl and twist of the nylon ropes in pops of color.

very truly signifies the state of man today. we are so bound in the materialistic world that we tend to forget our true selves. But thts what fashion is all bout !!

Fashion at its arty best. quirky outfits, out of the box accessories, eclectic mix of clothing....
if u have it flaunt it.....

Shilpa chavan's installation sure seems to attract all attention.

who said detachables dont work. just sport one of  these if you wanna prep up any boring outfit.

shagufta quamar's cylindrical bag...really "out of the box" must say!!

"Reverse velvet" -  who said durries were only meant to be used as mats...check out this brand for its himalayan carpet clothing....

Kawaljit singh - wear a dhoti with a long kurta and throw over a shawl in graphical prints.....

u definitely stole the show.....

Its all about fantasy....what u fantasise is what you wear. in an age of modern technology quirkiness is what will decide upon your style quotient. get it right or else you can be a spoilt sport in this game.

Lakme fashion Week this time has been more about people , celebs, trend offs, support staff etc. minus the shows, reviews that you can find endlessly anywhere.

Until the madness begins next season : 1st March- 6th March 2012.

Lakme fashion week is just not about people coming in all decked up for the event, its also about such crazy fans who would turn up even when their hands are broken or their feet is bent. captured here are some of these people who are willing to push the boundaries to be der at the biggest fashion event !!!!

Get rid of clutter and color. be pure..... be sane.....
white seems to be the color at this years lakme fashion week. atleast wid the men. presenting r d celebs that spot this colorless fashion.

Sabya believes in providing us wid colorful creations bt sans color fr himself !! always in whites...

imtiaz ali seems to be truly a "ROCKSTAR" in this white shirt.

sabya's muse at this years cannes - Kanistha dharkar looks cool n casual in white.

Chang - safe bet in a white cotton shirt and khaki pants.

Shaan - white is indeed his best friend.

Rohit Roy - who can carry an entire white suit with such elan !!

Textiles and fashion take a cue directly from pharmacy- bandage cloths, band aid; plaster gauzes promise  the healing process. Starched and pressed linens and gauzy woven cottons will float around the bodies while bandage like loose texture stretch material will hug the skin in skin colors. The doctor’s coat or the lab coat is also finding a way into the fashionista’s wardrobe.

 It’s actually healthy to wear white as it is not dyed or treated by colors and pigments.
