FELT or non woven fabric is made out of beating a lot of bales together forming into a mesh.

over the years it has creeped into our fashion wadrobe not just as an article protecting us from winter but as a statement accessory that can add zing to any boring article and keping you warm of course!!

this being an expensive material,  it definitely comes a little pricey .

but love the colors and the cut work in the brooch !

this piece of art becomes a statement neckpiece !!

We all want a slice of the lives of people whom we idolise or look upto for inspiration.
Years ago when the whole of the fashion industry was looking forward to the richie rich delhi and the filmi bombay , there was one person who was slowly working from his home ground only to become the most sought after designer in the country- Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
seen here are images from the wedding of his sister, shinjini which commenced in the first week of may.

The bengali bride dressed traditionally in a white and red sari.

The favorite with bengal women is the laal par or the red border, echoing the red of the sindhoor in the parting of the young brides hair.

the bride with her brother, dressed simply as always !!

the wedding guests seem to be high on bengali fashion with traditional woven saris doing rounds.

Loved the yellow dupatta and the way it is tied and knotted round the neck!!

The five day frenzied event comes to an end with a grand finale show by gauri and nainika followed by an equally rocking after show party. As the event draws towards the end their is a feeling of a hangover......I dont know what to do next morning when I get up !!!

With all its painstacking preprations,  chaos , drama, fun, frolic, celebs, gossips, business, controversies, bitching, fashion, trends, and madness all I have to say that "its worth it !!"

I havent posted images of the after show parties, celebs, page 3 and designers and their clothes etc. in this series . Thats because yo can find your dose on the web very easily.

Some poeple even ask me why am I doing this coverage when lakme was over like a month ago ??  

 Thats because its best to remember things when they are long over be it an occasion or a friendship.

It refreshes your mind and brings back fond memories of the times spent which are worth looking back .

As rightly said - Fashion can be bought. style one must possess.

next season this time around is from 17th to 21st august 2011.

dont know if i will be there this time around or not .................
